Probably not on topic of kz but my son bought a 77 Suzuki es?  750 the guy he bought it off of hase pvc pipe in the throat of carbs into pods bike runs ok  vm26 carbs never heard of it anybody else

Probably not a good idea as reversion will send gas mist back towards the filters.

PVC doesn't like some of the items contained in gasoline.

HDPE may be better.

The question is why would you do this the PVC is inside of the pods going to eliminate it and rebuild carbs I've had a lot of bikes never seenit before

Seems like that would really restrict flow at high rpm, which would negate the advantage of the individual filters.

Ask the guy you bought it from.
That's the easiest way.
We could all fathom reasons but humans do weird stuff all the time. I know I do.
Just take them off and start the tuning process.

They are in the trashcan now going to do mild restoration  including carburetor rebuild and new pods with air correctors thanks for your response  just never seen this before on a bike

Could we see a picture of this? I’m guessing the effective throat size of the carb has been cut down substantially.

Sounds like a work around to use wrong size filters on the mouths. I have done this but only on the outside of the carb mouth but not the inside as its too restrictive.

Be sure that you buy high quality filters like those sold by APE, Uni and K&N. There are cheap Chinese knockoffs that will give you endless headaches because they do not flow properly and often block the air corrector jets, so be sure you get the genuine articles.

I have done a couple bikes over didn't look like the hot set  thanks for the replies  onto my project 77 kz1000 A1 son will figure his bike out
