I'm searching for early 80's kaw fuel injection components.I'll be converting an 82 J1000 street/strip bike from carbs to fuel injection. If anybody has removed the so called "junk fuel injection" from an 82 and up gpz1100, let me know. Thanks.

Place an ad in the classified section if you need parts. This post won't get many responses and will soon be off the front page of this forum. Also, keep an eye on eBay. I see those FI systems come up from time to time as most folks go the other direction; convert from FI to carbs as the old parts are hard to fix and find.

Yeah, an injector rack from a '82 GPz1100 sold yesterday on eBay ($50.00)...the set currently on eBay (despite that they say from a 750) is another '82 GPz1100.

What's the visible differences between the 750 Turbo throttle bodies and the ones off an 82 GPz1100?
I have 3/4's of a set of GPz750 Turbo throttle bodies, and I am aware that the 1100's are larger, but I don't think the size difference would be noticable in a picture, so I assume there is some other way to tell.

I also have a set of 81 GPz1100 throttle bodies, both thanks to an unscrupulous eBay seller

I don't know what 750 throttle bodies look like, but I do have two sets of '82 GPz1100 throttle bodies...what is shown on the recently posted ones on eBay (described as 750/1100) are identical to mine.:)

AFAIK, they pretty much look the same, you will have an awful difficult time trying to fit the 1100 throttle bodies into the 750 carb holders though, the 1100's are larger diameter than the 750's.
Installing 1100 throttle bodies on 750 Turbos is a popular mod among the 750 Turbo crowd :)

If you mean THESE then I think they are 1100 because it states "35mm" and I think the 750 Turbo are 32mm.

All I need for my 750 Turbo throttle bodies is one injector, injector mount, and screws. :(

One of the reasons I like this site is that it always challenges me to learn something new about old Z's. I was sort of basing my conclusion that they were 1100 throttle bodies on a 'gestault' appearance. Well, did some more digging and the throttle position sensors have the same Kawasaki part numbers (their appearence initially suggested to me that they would be the 1100 bodies). As it turns out, I might have been wrong...can't use the throttle sensors to differentiate between the 750 and 1100's. However, since they are 35 mm bodies, they are, in fact, 1100 throttle bodies.

Just checked out the throttle bodies on ebay and noticed that the idle adjustment is located below the fast idle lever. The idle adjustment on my 82 1100 bodies is located in the middle of the rack near the pressure regulator, the same location as the 34cv carbs on my 1000J. Could this be the difference between 750 and 1100 throttle bodies or could they be 83/84 1100?

According to buykawasaki.com 83 GPz1100 throttle bodies have the idle adjustment under the cold start lever, and I looked at my 750 Turbo throttle bodies and it is in the same place on them, so I don't think that will help in identifying them.

On a side note, does your 82 GPz1100 have an Air Flow Meter?

I also checked the parts diagrams at Kawasaki.com and they are 83/84. My 82 doesn't have the airflow meter and the injectors are mounted in the throttle bodies instead of the head as in 81.
The parts diagrams at Kawasaki.com are a great resource. I don't think they are available from any other manufacturer.
