Maxime Berger decided to ride a unicycle to a World Superbike race:

Doesn't even look like he knows it yet. "Hmmm, feels like I'm loosing the rear."

The center section broke out of the wheel. If you look closely at that picture, you can see the center and hub still attached to the swingarm. Here's a postmortem shot:

And the video of the crash:

i was hollering at my wife"holly sh!t this dude just lost his back wheel".she thought i meant he lost traction, .
i said "no his back wheel, tire and all came off and passed him"!

crazy,i have lost a rear wheel off my race quad.the rear wheel passed me before i realised it was mine.

Here's my least favorite part:

Looked like Sykes had the pace to get on the podium. With the way that he and Lascorz are going, I'll bet that Kawasaki wins at least one race this year. When is Vermeulen going to earn a paycheck?

yes i saved it and when Amy got home and had fixed dinner let the races play...when i knew the wheel was coming up i made her watch the screen ,unknowing, even she was like , is that normal to have wheel come off...

first really i ever saw anything like that.....

or how about the tires going flat in the super sport race earlier this year? or the AMA flagging the daytona 200 for so long that Disalvos team can stick a spare engine in his 848 duc and steal the win against 600's who ran the whole race on one bike....bunch of shit if you ask me...200 miles ...only stop is for tires and fuel...1000cc no special rules or favors for engine size.....no start overs...then it is a 200 imo....

and lastly....Go Marco Melandri....first he rides the tires of the last Kawi GP bike and beats the odds for a few races.....then he passes all the regular FIM stars like they are track day guys in mid corner......go MARCO!!!!!33!!!

No doubt, the Daytona 200 was a load of fertilizer. I say you throw the boys out there with no pit crew. Line up a bunch of Jerry cans of fuel, stacks of tires, and some wrenches along the pit wall. You do your own fuel and tire changes. See who comes out on top. Changing engines is total BS, I don't care what lap it blew on. BTW, did anyone see what happened to EBoz? Ran two laps and called it a day. Guess the Kawasaki boys don't get to change engines to get back in the fight.

Marco, Polo, Marco, Polo....
Marco is the man, it's cool to see him when he's on. It seems like he got screwed in MotoGP by first riding that damn Desmocidici, and then signing a desperation contract with Kawasaki/Hayate. It's good to see him land on his feet in WSBK.

I'm thinking that WSBK could be interesting this year. Biaggi isn't on the same form as last season, and the other OEM's seem to be bridging the gap on power. It's early, we'll see....
