Hi Guys, I need some parts. they don't have to be NOS condition but I would like them to be decent. I am not afraid to do some work to make them usable.
I need: z1 battery box, z1 document tray, rear passenger pegs, z1 dashboard- idiot lights, headlight shell. z1 Taillight and bracket, front fender, rear fender. I would love a 1975 factory paint blue z1 gas tank that is in ok condition. I have gotten some reproduction parts and they are ok just not the same as OEM. For shipping I am in Burlington, VT 05408. thanks

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

There are two styles of passenger pegs on a Z1B. Any build date prior to Jan/75 has pegs similar to '73/74, with the chrome ends. From Jan/75 (roughly S/N 70,000) onwards the pegs were solid rubber on the ends.

thanks Hardrockminer, I did not know that. My bike according to the guy I bought it from was a theft recovery in the 90's. It has mostly kz1000 parts on it and is very bastardized. I have never had a z1 before so most of what I know is from reading online, mostly from this website. anyways my vin is in the 52 thousands so I guess it likely had the chrome pegs. I'm not looking to make it factory correct perfect matching date codes etc., just want to get it close and ride it. I would gladly buy either style in good condition if anyone has some they don't need.

It's a nice looking bike but visibly very little of it is from a Z1, including the entire front end, shocks, carbs, wheels, rear brake, right control switch, air intake, valve cover, etc etc. You may want to just enjoy riding it as it is, particularly if it's reliable as it is. There is a great book on Z1's by John Brookes...I recommend it if you want to learn about them.

I don't have any spare Z1 parts to sell. I was just curious if your engine was a Z1.

This blue one is a Z1 valve cover from engine S/N 554xx. (Close to this frame S/N) Note there are no semi circles on the end.
The candy apple red one is from S/N 72000 (approx). Again, no semi circle on the cover. I think they started that in '77.
Because of the rather large amount of non-Z1 parts on the bike I thought perhaps the engine isn't Z1...hence my question.
