"Barn Find", but he knows it ran before it was parked? An almost brand new bike that he leaves out in the snow ... notice ... it's been snowed on!
I sold 2 Yamaha XS650s in Erie, PA about 7 years ago and one of them reappeared as a "Barn Find" just a few years later! Both XS650s were road worthy running bikes when I sold them to someone from Buffalo, NY. I emailed him and told him the bike was NOT a barn find.

Looks like it's seen rough conditions, most of its life. Note the surface rust on the chromed parts...

So, sitting in a "barn" can cause this. My SR sat in a Washington shed for 10+ years before I got her. Surface rust on the frame, under the tank!

Maybe the installation of a new speedometer/odometer can upset the Motorcycle Space-Time Continuum and make an old bike into a reborn (Barn Find) motorcycle?
To be fair, the dude selling it might have found the bike hidden behind some 46 year old hay bales and when he asked the barn owner about it was told that it was only driven for one weekend and then parked there to keep it from being stolen by joy riding dairy cows?
I am probably too skeptical nowadays. Looking on FB Marketplace and Craigslist everyday has that effect on me. I'm more upset that he let it get snowed on! It survives unloved for 46 years and he leaves it outside to be snowed on. That poor bike can't catch a break!

Yes, even covered by a tarp in a barn for 12 years can render this...

...trust me, I've seen far worse! ...yes, it came home with me.
