Should I add the speckles to my garage floor epoxy was created by ckahleer
I will be painting my garage floor later this week with Rust-Olum two part epoxy floor paint. It comes with speckles you sprinkle on the floor while the paint is still wet.
Will those sprinkles make it harder to find dropped parts?

No, visual 'noise' like specks tends to mask & camouflage small parts on a surface. Our opinion is, better to be monocolor if aesthetics permit.
A method to help locate tiny items dropped on a large, hard surface:
Lay a bright flashlight on it's side so the beam shines parallel to the floor. The part might be tall enough cast a shadow. Or, kneel down so an eye is close to the floor & sweep the beam while sighting along it at floor level. A small item on the floor such as a screw or washer will often be more easily seen that way than trying to sight it from above.

What's in those speckles? Are they for anti slip? If so, they may hold some value.
Personally, I wouldn't paint the floor. Unless there is something added to reduce slip, the coating can be slippery, particularly when wet.
When dropping something on the floor, I take a quick look around, and if I don't find it, I grab the broom and sweep the area. That usually corrals the runaway.

They make a silica based sand that will take care of it being slippery.
I'm not a big fan of flakes as it does make it harder to find small parts

I used the Rustoleum 2-part epoxy kit and it's held up well for almost 10 years. To me, the speckles are too large and make the finish too coarse. Yes, it makes finding very small parts difficult. Also makes cleaning up spills harder.
