Valve Shim Tool

It says it's for the Z1, KZ900, and KZ1000. I've got a '79 KZ750 and I'm wondering if this will do the job.
The Kawasaki part numbers are different. The ebay listing is part number 57001-113 and my manual says I need 57001-501.
Anybody know how different (if at all) these tools are? Will the Z1-900-1000 tool help in removing the KZ750 shims or am I stuck using the Motion Pro "bat wing"?

His parts are excellent. This tool will last for your lifetime of KZ work.
I would never use that cheap Batwing, my finger tips are worth more to me than $9.99.
I actually have a factory tool. I bought it in 1978, along with a factory valve spring tool compressor.

I was possibly not doing it right as I wouldn't think that this should or would happen normally.
I ended up getting the proper shim tool with a chinese container full of shims for free. :woohoo:
I don't have any problems or concerns about doing my shims other than it takes time away from a drink or toooooo. :whistle:

What's your secret? I've tried holding the bucket down with a screwdriver or pick wedged under the cam. If placed exactly right it might work or it might slip and send the shim zinging across the room.

I have the Ebay repro tool posted above. It makes shimming a pleasure and not a problem. I wouldn't touch the batwing tool myself.
1980 KZ1000 LTD-B4(MK II engine) - Progressive suspension, MTC pistons, Dynojet Stage III, all wear items replaced, WFO paint scheme(1978), etc..
Past bikes- 2 1976 Kz900's, 5 1975-76 Honda CB750's, Honda 500 -4, Honda 250, Honda 125, Honda 100, Suzuki RM 250, Honda XL350, Kawasaki KLR 650, etc..

15 minute valve adjustment on 16 valves ! Measure, push the rocker arm aside and lock it, remove and replace shim using a magnet, let the rocker arm slide back in place. Priceless!
