Don't you just need a reducer in the hoses? Just a small piece pushed in tightly, close to the gauge/ tool, so if the hose end gets distorted it can be trimmed back 1/2".
Just a plastic round, and a hole drilled worked for me with my home made sticks.

The sensors are pretty fragile. I'm worried if the hoses get yanked, some of the force will get to the sensors. Also, ideally the block of reducers will be at a right angle so the sensors can be mounted directly to the main board. Having two boards connected by wires is just that much more work and cost.
