Yes, I believe there is, but they are not listed on the Kawasaki website diagrams. I seem to recall the owners tools being listed on the microfiche, which I have at home. If no one posts an answer to your question today, I'll look tonight at the microfiche.

I have a couple of what I believe are complete tool pouches for the KZ.Contents are as follows:24,22,19 mm box ends,17/14,13/12and 10mm open ends, black screwdriver handle with phillips and flat tip inserts,R20.5 spanner for shock adjustment, extension handle for the box ends, pliers, plug wrench with handle.Earlier models had gap gauge for plugs/points and I have one of those as well.Spare fuses are carried in the fuse box cover.hope this helps.bj

This will sound retarded, But.I own an "original" tool kit, & owners manual. Neither travels w/me. I do however have a "Dick & Jane" 3 page fold 0ut wiring diagram,(which resides in the tail section w/ reg/ins.forms) & since I run "Pods" a velcro/nylon "tool pouch" which hangs from the frame rail inside the r/h side cover. It includes 8-17mm Craftman wrenches,4-8mm allen wrenches, an axle spanner & extension, a plug socket,a "stock" screwdriver handle w/straight & phillips bit, a "home made" test light, safty wire, elect tape(wound around extension) spare fuses, a set of plugs a couple 1157/1156 bulbs. a stock points plate & advance unit, a small crescent wrench, a small pair of pliers & a joint. The quality of "stock" tool kit componants were POOR at best. DO YOUR' WORK AT HOME... Yes, emergencys will arise on the road, cover the consigancys you can without back-up & ride close to home for the first couple hunnert miles. Never plan on a extended outing without a pre-ride. luck g

all real good advice. kinda the way i was leaning , was to put together something of quality from my coloction of tools and get a axel wrench, shock spanner, plug socket to carry in a leather pouch i have. and i do know this bike is 30+ year old machine. i am leaving stock airbox and dont have a lot of room.

My last bike had room for 20 lbs of stuff!

thx again

Enjoy also carrying a short length of hose that fits snugly over a spark plug to remove while hot without burning fingers.

Good Fortune! :)

with all this talk about tool pouches I have a question. So on the Kz1000's where was the tool kit kept on the bike? in the tail? in the tray? I know my 900 ltd has a specific tool box, but I don't see one on my 1000.

On the 1982 J2 it is kept under the seat next to the battery. The tail section is for "owner's papers" (as i read or saw some where).
