Got a new toy to play with...
This used cam chain has less measured stretch than the original one in my engine, and the pins and link components have extensive wear not visible when assembled.
I plan to install the new Morse (OEM Kawasaki) separated cam chain with master link shown below.

Daveo: It may sound off the wall, but are you going to "practice" a couple of times outside of the engine with your tool to see how it goes and if the master link is riveted correctly? I know it may cost you a few extra dollars for sacrificial master links, but it may be worth the time and expense in the end. If it were me I would do so just so I can measure the crush and expansion of the rivet heads with a caliper and see/feel how the link rotates.

Good suggestion Rick H.
The old used cam chain I removed the link pin from has a different brand marking (?). The link pins are larger in diameter than the Morse brand (M)
See images below
D.I.D brand cam chains may have unique differences affecting master-link compatibility as well.
It appears Z1 Enterprises has the correct master link for my chain, though it is marketed as a K&L product:
www.z1enterprises.com/cam-chain-82rh2015-master-link-2.html
I intend to have 100% success.

I'll be monitoring closely for stretch as the chain wears-in under manually adjusted tension. It just need to be snug, and always smoothly pulling.

The new chain 152 link measurement is 16mm shorter than the old one, and it corrected the errant engine timing exactly.Done!

FSM 20 link spec service life length measurement is from 127 mm normal to 128.9 mm. max. 20 links measure 128.4 mm old, and 126.3 mm new.
My engine also had a ??? cam chain shown in the previous image, like the one I got off ebay to practice on.
Info I found leading up to this project suggested BorgWarner Morse as the OEM brand Kawasaki cam chain manufacturer...same that came in a NOS Kawasaki 92057-1052 package.
Hmmm. So apparently there were other brand Morse Silent HY-VO cam chains used in these Kawasaki engines.
Aside from having different pin diameter sizes, they look quite different when viewing the chain link images closely.
