Dragged from behind the shed into my tiny workshop in Dec 2022. "Finished" is a loose word in old bike restorations but I finished it yesterday. Thanks to all who helped me and helped me off the ledge.

I have no idea why I painted the wheels black.

I still need a 1981 GPz550 speedo and chain guard.

Your machine looks great!  I get what you are saying that bike projects are never really done, rather they are done for now.

That looks wonderful! Nice job! Especially considering the 'before' picture

It can be tough to find bodywork in good shape. Were you able to locate a nice tank or did you need to have one painted and striped?

looks really good, unless you are a stickler for originality I think the black wheels look better (only my opinion)
PS: that workshop isn't tiny by UK standards

Thanks Wook!
That's my buddy's shop where I had to take it when the wiring harness was giving me fits. 40 year old harnesses now. There were a couple of wires which had broken or deteriorated inside the harness and had to be replaced. After the no spark saga that played out here I paid him to figure it out.

My workshop is a 1.2 car garage, at best. Full UK spec.

I have 3-4-5 1981 GPz550s including the one Kawasaki USA found when they moved out of their old HQ in 2017 (?). It had been in a locked and sealed container since 1984.Two run, now.I have 6 plastic bins full of misc parts.I bought that tank on eBay maybe 4 years ago. It was the nicest one I'd seen in recent memory so I bought it. $400. It was stupid expensive--just ask my wife.

Yeah, you're doing okay with parts.

I bought a NOS tank (in the original box) on eBay about two years ago - same price, believe it or not. It was a minor miracle.
