Searched hi and low, but what is the correct method of compression testing? My understanding is to remove all plugs, hook compression gauge to cyl testing, hold at WOT while cranking over for 6 revolutions. Not sure if correct, if not please holla

That's how I do it but I crank the engine until the gauge reaches max.

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

The engine needs to be hot.  And if the bike has been out of action for some time, there may be some residual crud on the valves and seats that needs to be burned off with an Italian tuneup.  Also, the valves need to be properly adjusted.  A LOT of neglectful users don't adjust valves, and with mileage the clearance closes down until the valves don't close anymore, thus leading to compression leak down.

I think three or four revolutions is usually enough to get the maximum reading.
