Rubber Plug was created by colin1966
Hi all,

I've just completed a complete rebuild of a Z650 B1 (77) engine (yet to be fired up and tested).  No major issues in the rebuild except I have a small rubber plug left over.  It's item 14 on the crankcase parts diagram and is part number 92066057, description Plug, Rubber Ball 6.7.  Silly question but I can't make out from the parts diagram where it actually goes.  Is it from the screw hole that the engine ground cable connects to?  Anybody know what the purpose of the ball is?

Thanks,
Colin

Cheers,
Colin

No, it doesn't go into the screw hole for the ground.  It's been a while but I think it goes into a hole that comes out on one of the tranny bearings.  I don't know its function.

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

Look into gazzz project build, he is a genius of wrenching and detailed documentation.

Thanks gents for the replies.  I wish I'd seen the gazzz project build when I started my engine rebuild.  It would have been really helpful.

Now just wonder how critical it is to have the plug fitted.

Colin
