Look in "articles" at the FSM for a KZ750 and all the specs you need will be at your fingertips

Thanks for that, I managed to find a manual on a KZ750 E that seems similar other than the shaft drive. I’m reassembling an old 1980’s Gt750 that I bought in boxes. I am currently rebuilding the gear box.
the main shaft/drive shaft has 3 small bearings that seem to lock the fist gear selector in place and I’m struggling to get the box to change up and down are the bearings thrown out with centripetal force to allow the selector to move.
im struggling to see how else these function.
once again thanks in advance
regards
collin

You are encountering the neutral finder function, as you surmised the shaft needs to be spinning so centrifugal force will throw the ball bearings out of the groove.

Thanks Mike
I did not want to assemble the whole engine without running the box up and down I assume I could spin the drive shaft with a slow drill but was hoping there was a simple way of proving the box before assembly

You can use the starter motor to spin the internal gears. Removing the spark plugs let spin the engine much higher.
