I just made a guide from some round bar stock.
Drilled through the center with the helicoil drill. Step the outer so it'll fit full depth in the recess for the guide dowel.
Slide it on the drill bit, then once the bit is perfectly in place in line with the thread hole the guide will slide into the dowel pin hole. So long as the guide underside is flat against the head face the drill bit must be correctly aligned.

Woodyvale, yup, these things take time and usually some new tools.
Adjusting the valves on my zr7S 750 requires removing the cams so, beforehand, I actually had my twenty+ year old torque wrench calibrated. Did I avoid a stripped bolt hole? I don't know.

I picked up one of these last year and it worked great to get the hole lined up correctly. www.eastcoastadditive.com/samples-of-pro...-cam-cap-drill-guide
Interesting little drill guide referman. How much did that guide cost you if I may ask and how did you get it? Thanks...

I believe it was $35.00 and worked great. www.eastcoastadditive.com/samples-of-pro...-cam-cap-drill-guide I'm pretty sure he made an ebay listing for me.
