Dreaded KZ750 Start Clutch Gear was created by ShaneDude
I ordered the stater clutch repair kit from old bike barn.
I can do a few mechanical things on a bike, but I am by no means a pro. Can someone tell me whats involved in rebuilding the Starter Clutch Gear, the tools I might need, etc?
Thanks!

I would asume this is the 750-4, not the twin as you don't say.

Change the whole thing, not just rollers and springs.   The casing could develop hair thin cracks, the center hub may have flat spots not visible to the naked eye.    Too much disassemble involved to go cheap.   I know people who was changing again in a few months.

...................first time I changed one, it was the hub out of round.

If this is the 750-4, among other things...you would need factory manual......impact gun....clutch nut....., impact screwdiver.....any gaskets or o-rings you may encounter...change the cushy drive rubber inside it......clutch holder....of course you realize the whole drive clutch has to come out....plus exhaust....and left cover also.

I updated the topic.

Its the 750B twin. And I cant replace the whole thing. They are rare.

Then dismiss what I said.....except for the part of changing the whole thing.....all parts of this type of starting clutch are susceptible to wear, break, or crack,....sorry.    But if no choice, I suppose you will have to take your changes with what you have.

It seems like it will be now be a kickstart only bike. Not my preference, but it is what it is. Parts are hard to find, in this case, a  new starter clutch gear is near impossible to find.

I dont see anything. Whatever you attached, didnt post. And if its what I think it is, from the ebay number (I guessed), thats the starter clutch for a 400, not a 750 Twin. It will not fit

It’s listed as the gear, and same part number that the 750b uses.

As mentioned above it’s a lot of work to trust aftermarket parts. Good luck!

Sorry, but you are wrong. The proper number is 21170-003 for the 750B. The 400 number is COMPLETELY different.  I hope no one buys a 400 starter clutch gear thinking it will fit a 750B because it wont.  Here is a proper one that sold last week. I missed it.
