Top case was modified between Z1E-33330 and Z1E-42357
Pretty sure Z1F-36608 has 73 stye case, photo not the best.
Bottom case was modified between Z1E-045358 and Z1E-050602 (my guess is around Z1E-47530)

It's always good to learn something new.  I wasn't aware they had done the case mod in two steps.  I assumed both halves were done at the same time.  But back to streetfighter's engine, if he has the 80 mm S/N block it means the case was manufactured after S/N 27,000 but before the top case mod.

Edited to add that I went back to the photo 73Z1 posted of the front of the engine...I'm assuming it's the same engine as the earlier photos.  The photo is a bit blurry but now I'm thinking it has both the top and bottom mods.  Any chance of a clearer photo?

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

You know what this is super interesting and takes the sting away from the fact that the case is re stamped, it gives me something to look out of later, i personally think the case i have are way later cases that were put on a mill to take the plate down past the stamp and then restamped but im glad to be proved wrong . This is said corner on the case in question.

Now i have 2 Z1b cases and you might find this interesting, in the case of thse 2 lugs the older of the Z1b cases has the bolt on the left hand side and the newer has it on the right.

first the older case. Z1E 0546**

and  Z1E 0670**

It looks to me like the outer one is round, while the inner on is square, but none of the others look that way.

Thats interesting in its own right, somewhere in the Z1E 055*** bracket they moved form 2 lugs top and bottom with the hole/tap on the outside to the hole/tap on the inside. No  Texas its curved just like all the rest, the carbon streak in the photo just makes it look like a had edge.

So for the sum of 1,300 euro ($1,455) door to door from the UK to Ireland this is what i got after a full strip down to the crank. From top to bottom.
1. Z1000 CYLINDER HEAD COVER, i can use this later,
2. A set of fast road Kent Cams (thanks for identifying them Zed1015)
2. z1(later style) cylinder head with porting to suit Gpz1100 intake boots and +1mm over sized stainless valves, with heavy duty valve springs.
3. 73mm Weisco piston set
4. 903cc cylinder barrels bored up with sleves to suit pistons.
5. Complete new cam chain tensioner set.
6. Restamped later super 4 engine cases bored out to fit the 73mm selves and ape heavy duty studs all round, more than likely restamped from a knackered set to suit the frame that this went into.
7. New clutch pack and heavy duty clutch springs.
8. Welded crank in perfect condition and a well done one too, better than the one i have my self.
9. All the gear pack, clutch assembly, charging system in perfect condition and what looks like new bearings all round.
10. Dyna ignition, but the burnt section of the wires were cut off and it will have to be tested later.
11. All engine covers in perfect order.
12. 12mm offset sprocket, practically unused.
13, Hydraulic clutch plate and slave cylinder.
14, Oil fittings for an oil cooler.
All together im happy bar the engine restamp and i will be rebuilding the engine in the next few months on this thread, starting with a good aqua blasting.

I mentioned the value was in the parts. You got lucky and got good ones. Sounds like you have picked the best option. Good find.

Thanks mate, yea besides the dodge numbers, which arnt actually a problem (as long as you disclose the fact ) in Ireland but its going to be a "Special" a bit of a bits bike when its built, all stock iv collected over the years, got a set of Rs34 carbs on the shelf for it too.  The sum of its parts will more than likely shine brighter than the bikes pedigree.
