‘79 KZ650 Cylinder Head Repair was created by DarkLordZW
I’m having some trouble with the cylinder head on my KZ650. I’ve actually got 2 heads: one original, one new-old-stock.
The original head has some fairly significant scoring on the cam bearings. They’re not too deep, but they’re enough that I can easily feel them with my fingernail.
The other head has clean bearings, but I can’t seem to get the valves to stop leaking. Looking at the valves after lapping, I’m thinking the seats might need to be cut.
Does anyone know of a reliable shop I could send one or both of the heads to to have them repaired? I live in rural GA, and it’s been surprisingly hard to find anyone near me who works on old Kawasakis.
Thanks!
