PMC Easy Clutch was created by Darmah
I bought an Easy Clutch from Webike Japan. I've spent friggin hours trying to set it up.No matter how many turns out I set the slotted screw, from 0 to 1 turn. When I pull the clutch in, there is a loud "snap", and the cable goes loose.. I've seen that some guys have had the same problem and got it sorted. But never got round to saying what they did and how. I've gone back to the original actuator and hoping someone can help me out. Cheers

Sounds like the mechanism is jumping over the ramp.  Do you have the correct cable?  And does your bike use a ball bearing with the clutch push rod, and if so is it installed?

Give us some bike info.

I agree with Nessism, somehow your getting to much travel (pull) on it.

I have the PMC EZ Pull kit on my '77 KZ-1000 and it works just fine, knock on wood.  The directions that came with the kit were in Japanese so I used a translate app with my i-phone to sort of understand what the directions were saying.  It helps to understand the instructions.  All I can say is look at the pictures closely and try to do what they are showing you.  The relative location of the arm on the actuator upon installation is important as well as initial cable adjustment.  There are a great many threads on this subject and if you do a search and I am sure they will help you.  I hesitate going into this much right now because it's been 2 years since I installed my PMC kit and I may forget to mention something important.  If you can translate the instructions it will be a big help to you.

I used the Google translate app on my phone when I installed mine.  I've found their phone app invaluable with a lot of the Japanese-only directions.

My bike is a '73 Z1. I'm pretty sure the cable is the correct one. There is supposed to be a ball bearing at the other end of the push rod. I have been wondering if maybe thats missing. But the slotted adjuster screw doesnt look like its screwed in further than its supposed to. But will check for the ball bearing. Thanks everyone for your advice. I'll have another go at it and check for the bearing. Cheers.

Take a look at my post, specifically my last entry.  I too was having the popping issue and then a limp clutch, all you need to do is simply move the mechanism 180 degrees and it will be good.  Again, check my post, there are pictures.

Thanks Bama, I'll try that. When I first tried. The position of my arm was similar to the position in your first pic. As a side note. I found I had to wind out all my cable adjustment to get the cable anywhere near tight. I should have realised then. Hind sight huh.

No, not as yet. Took the bike in for a Road worthyness check and it failed. Have to fix up the front brake caliper, as its leaking a little brake fluid. But will post the results as soon as I get onto it. Cheers
