KZ400 exhausts was created by Feanor_twh
Hi, I'm looking for some new exhausts for my Kawasaki KZ400-D3. I found some Macs, which have a nice aesthetic, but the seller says they work for these models:

1977 KZ400A Deluxe
1975-1977 KZ400S Special

I think they will also work for my bike, but I would like someone to clarify this for me.

Thanks

(1976) Kawasaki KZ400-D3. All original, but: electronic reg/rec (Oregon Motorcycle Parts), new handlebar controls (w/ PASS/HORN/lights switch, LED dash lights (superbrightleds.com), Dynatek coil (3ohm), MAC mufflers, HEL brake hoses, rubber fork boots, 4.00 rear tyre (Dunlop K70), chromed chainguard

Just the cans or the head pipes too? I have Mac cans on my KZ400 and they work fine.

no, only cans, the pipes are fine.

What model of KZ400 do you have?

Did you have problems passing the technical inspection of vehicles with them?

Are those exhausts working well? I chose them because they are beautiful and I think they go well with the aesthetics of the bike, and because there are not many other models available either. Have they ended up corroding or do they hold up well?

Thanks

Mine's a '76 D3. Where I live there are no inspections. Hard to imagine having to put up with that...
Anyway, they are holding up fine but then it is garaged and seldom ridden. I'm dealing with a front brake conversion so until that is done...
Checked my notes and I bought these from Lowbrow Customs in '12 for $114. In the pics you can see how they mount. They are not the universal types that use adjustable hangers.

Thanks for the info. However, in all the web pages that I see them available, they only speak of the KZ400-B, KZ400-A, S, C, even H models but nowhere do they speak of the KZ400-D (which is mine).

Does anyone know if there is any mounting difference between these KZ400 models? I'm really afraid of spending almost € 300 (apparently they have risen in price since 2012) and that afterwards they will not be able to fit in.

The part number is 002-0113. If that same number shows up on yours, ThatGPzGuy , I think that would be it.
