Can you give s something to work with?
What is it doing when you press the start button? Engine turns over? Starter clutch screeching? Nothing?
It's got gas? Happens more than you know.
Battery up to the task?
Starts after ether puffing in the intake?
Gotta scacrifice a chicken facing north on even days and south on odd number days, before it's starts?

I don't have a plan and I'm sticken' to it! '77 KZ 650 / 750 GPz custom project in progress

When I push the start button It'll try to turn over and then it'll make a screeching sound. Sometimes it'll try to crank but most of the time it'll just screech. It only has 9700 miles on it. I replaced the solenoid and the starter

Starter clutch issues make that sort of noise.

What kind of oil are you using?  Motorcycle or diesel engine oil (hopefully?)

I was thinking that it is the starter clutch so I ordered a starter clutch assembly from eBay but I would guarantee that mine that's already on my bike is better because the one I bought is in horrible condition. It's rusted up pretty bad but the rollers, springs and the sleeve looks alright.  My dad gave me the bike a few months back and he said he rode it 3 times but the fuel kept over filling into the crankcase and he couldn't figure that out he took the air box out and installed the air filter pods and I capped out off the vents which stopped the fuel going into the oil. Then I replaced the solenoid because when i tried to start it, it would just click once and I'd lose all power blowing a fuse. Replacing the solenoid fixed that, but then this started happening. I haven't even gotten to ride it yet, not once lol

Cfoux you starter this conversation at the  begining of this month on another thread   ...and went buying a USED starting clutch on ebay to replace a USED starting clutch on this bike.///

....I know is none of my business, and  no offense, please, .....if you don't like my suggestion, just ignore it.......... but have you considered returning this bike to your dad??    Often people do not do us a favor when they give us things for free.     THEY ARE NOT REALLY FREE when they are this old.

Hugo no offense taken at all bud, I appreciate you responding and for everyone else who has tried to help. I won't be asking for anymore help on this subject since my questions have been answered generously. I have not fixed the issue yet but only because of my lack of money, tools, and my health have kept me from working on it. I actually have thought about bringing it back to my dad and telling him to shove it up his @$$ and taking one of his Harleys but I don't give up that easy lol. I figured if being born with only one lung and having severe breathing complications ain't gonna kill me and now being exposed to the covid virus now, I'm gonna get this bike running and I'm going to take a ride before I leave this life lol
