I would trade your dry desert climate with mountains for my flat as a pancake prairie with 6 months of below freezing temps, blistering frost bite, wind, and 7 foot snow drifts, contrasting with 6 months of tropical heat, rain and humidity....any time!
Our local weather jokes basically go like "Furnace blasting in winter, AC blasting in summer, no happy medium!"
If there is a hill taller than twenty feet around here, or any place that has water that is even somewhat see - through, the government makes it into a park and charges money if you want to go anywhere near it....
Curves in our highways are far and few; usually as the result of property ownership, not terrain....
