Thanks Tri, hopefully he will be handing the flag to you some day
Zach probably could use the name of a good bike shop , we had trouble with the new Michelin's and could not get the rear tire to seat properly so we put the old tire back on and he will have to get it replaced at some point.

Great milestone!
I also have an 18 year old son interested in riding, and with a few 650s to choose from at home, looks like it may be his first ride too, short of a few dirt bike rides.
I've often wondered if the 650s might be a bit large for first timers.
How did Zach find riding the kz650 for the first time?

When I turned 18 I bought a brand new 77 KZ650 C just like Eds, I loved that bike but I was a bit of a problem child and lost my license for a while so I sold it
For me it was a great first bike and one you can ride for ever, plenty of power, and able to keep up with the 900's so when this one turned up I jumped on it.
He is having no problem riding it and it sits a little lower then the 1000 so he is able to put both feet flat on the ground, it fits him well , he's about 5'-10" and skinny
He is very cautious and we have been putting a lot of miles on the country river roads with not much traffic so far, we even had a taste of a little rain today.
The curves are what make me nervous so the more time we spend on them the better I like it.

Great to see the Bike together Jack. I know you are one proud Father. I am very happy for you and Zach.
Let's all get out for a ride together before Zach takes off for Berkeley. I have an idea on the tire situation. Call Me.

Hey, I know it's late notice and all but Rockerbox is tomorrow and in Milwaukee. My plan is to leave at 7 and ride up to meet up with Pete the Greek and from there we ride up as a clan. You guys would be excellent opportunity to do. I could meet you up at the science and industry or off of the 55 or wherever you like.
You got my number, call me.

Thanks Laurence that would be a gas ,unfortunately we have a 8th grade graduation party to attend up in Mt. prospect today :pinch: and won't be back until later, have fun.
We have a festival going on in Ottawa and there are a couple of bands playing tonight that look like they may be good so we will be riding to that
