I've been putting some miles on my "new" 1997 cop bike. Things have changed since I last had a Harley police surplus bike, decades ago. In those days, other drivers simply got out of the way. Now, with all the new laws I see all kinds of funny reactions.
This evening, the guy in the car next to me started fumbling around looking for his seat belt. He swerved a little while putting it on. People drop their cell phones like hot potatoes when they see me in the rear view mirror. I swear I saw one guy swallow a hand-made cigarette. Many drivers slow down to the speed limit before they pull into the slower lane. That took some getting used to. All in all, the bike is performing its main job: being seen. That's a huge change from being invisible, like when I'm riding my Suzuki VS1400.

Welcome to KZR. You won't hurt anyone's feelings if you post some pictures of that police special.
I rememeber one occasion when my father (career Ford Service Manager) brought home a decommisioned Ford Bronco that had belonged to the Border Patrol. Still had the light bar in place with the green and white paint. That was fun to run out on the interstate and watch all of the other driver's reactions when we closed the distance on them.

Hello, Testarossa.
I can imagine driving a Border Patrol marked car at the California-Mexico border. Could get pretty hairy along with the fun.
I'll post pix of my KZP as soon as I get a radio box mounted on it. Looks wrong without it. The colored front light lenses have been replaced with clear. Orange side lights still on and legal.
Cheers,
Dave

Dave,
I've got an Aussie customer looking for clear pursuit lenses for his cop bike. Any idea where he can get some?
I get this inquiry every couple of years and I can't locate my link I had once upon a time.
Thanks in advance.

Hello, Bakes.
I wish I could help but the guy I bought the bike from was not the person who did the conversion. That shop is out of business.
Cheers,
Dave

Call these guys... They contract police bikes from the police departments, convert them for sale to the public.

OK, I uploaded some pix of my cop bike. Note the BMW radio box. It took a little work to attach it, but fit fine.

I guarantee that I would slow down if you pulled up riding that thing.
Is that your M3 in the background? I always liked those cars.
