Our little 1/8th mile track has a been field right at the end of the shut down area as the tech guy reminded me repeatedly first time i showed up there with a turbo bike, and then again everytime when I used to ride in there on my 1327! :woohoo:les holt wrote: It didn't sink in till later just the scheme of the deal, kinda got pumped when it happened, adrenaline rush I guess. I was luckier than you can imagine, no cars coming the other way, sloping dropoff, beanfield, and on and on. I love the ride and handle of this bike but I've got to get a different one to ride if I'm going to be riding hard.

Ive always run my bikes with 10" rear shocks and 650 front ends,of course our corners have stop signs on them! :woohoo:650ed wrote: Glad you held on to her and came out of it ok!! Having had a similar hair raising (shedding) experience with my old BSA I am always amazed when I see folks asking "how can I lower my bike by 2 or 3 inches?" Clearly that haven't had "bean field" training. Ed
When I was young/dumb I used to try dragging footpegs through hard corners,I scuffed up a couple nice kerkers doing it but Ive passed that phase in life now!

Done a little over 200 mile benefit ride Saturday, walk out to take off and I have a crowed around my bike, over 200 harleys and such and mine had the crowed, don't care who you are, that's a pretty good feeling. Another reason I hate to alter it.

maybe you need some pipes like the alien workshop bike, .
or perhaps an exhaust like this,
which would limit ground clearance, but would not limit cornering clearance.
i would think a crafty feller like yourself could come up with an elegant solution.
and maybe some of us other dummys could benifit from it  .
