It didn't sink in till later just the scheme of the deal, kinda got pumped when it happened, adrenaline rush I guess. I was luckier than you can imagine, no cars coming the other way, sloping dropoff, beanfield, and on and on. I love the ride and handle of this bike but I've got to get a different one to ride if I'm going to be riding hard.

Our little 1/8th mile track has a been field right at the end of the shut down area as the tech guy reminded me repeatedly first time i showed up there with a turbo bike, and then again everytime when I used to ride in there on my 1327! :woohoo:

Ive always run my bikes with 10" rear shocks and 650 front ends,of course our corners have stop signs on them! :woohoo:
When I was young/dumb I used to try dragging footpegs through hard corners,I scuffed up a couple nice kerkers doing it but Ive passed that phase in life now!

Have you lowered your bike? In my experience, normal bikes are not lifted up under these conditions, you're more likely to level the wheels off the road. Low riders, like cruisers, OTOH, will easily be pushed up if you hit a bump on the exhaust while cornering. Longer bikes are also more likely to stand up than shorter ones, all things being equal.

Yeah, it's fairly long and low with a sidewinder. I've hit the pipe quite a few times but this time it totally escaped my mind and I was shoving it in there hard. I put a nick in the dyno cover a few days before and its way higher than the pipe.

The altenator cover is higher, but also wider, which is why it touches down. For your type of riding, you really should raise your bike at least an inch, preferable two inches. Your bike may not look quite as cool, but it would look a lot better than after a crash. Not to mention your own person.

I've had many stretch and slammed bikes and have hit the pipe before but I've never had one handle like this one. I've never hit a dyno cover before either. I hate to alter it's stance, kinda like it and it works, just have to realize it's limitations. I've got another complete turbo setup and even considered it after Street Fighter LTD mentioned it but I almost have the other motor built for this and it wouldn't be as happy with a turbo.
Done a little over 200 mile benefit ride Saturday, walk out to take off and I have a crowed around my bike, over 200 harleys and such and mine had the crowed, don't care who you are, that's a pretty good feeling. Another reason I hate to alter it.

Its a great feeling whith all those HD's sitting around and your the guy getting all the attention I loved it at the blessing I left the seat unlocked after the 5th or 6th time of showing the mono off.

You forget about the limitations with the increased handling it takes the flexiflyer out of the equation lol

people will walk through a see of harleys to check out one of these cool old bikes.

maybe you need some pipes like the alien workshop bike, .

or perhaps an exhaust like this,

which would limit ground clearance, but would not limit cornering clearance.

i would think a crafty feller like yourself could come up with an elegant solution.
and maybe some of us other dummys could benifit from it  .
