1982Kz750R1

I found a rough, basket case for cheep. Almost more in gas to go get it. I have a lot of projects but for the price I don’t think I want to turn it down. Thoughts? I have always wanted a GPZ1100. This might help scratch the itch. Oh yeah I get an extra GPZ frame and (2) 750-4 engines. No extra body parts though.

I'd pick it up in a heartbeat! 

I love my 750.  It's so much lighter than the 1000's and it handles tons better too.  There is more than enough power for normal riding.  I sold off my prized GS1000S after finishing my KZ because riding the smaller and lighter bike was hands down more enjoyable (for me.)  

It's rare enough to rationalize a restoration and fun enough to own to justify it.

Thanks all. Working out the details. The seller has a pile of parts. Bad news is the have been stored outside. Engines in trash bags. Is this the 750 R1 tank?

 

It looks like the same tank I have, which is 82. But first, open the tank and see inside. This tank is so rare I can't find one, even on evilbay. If I'm not mistaken, Kawasaki had this tank for three years in US. Maybe little longer in EU side. Been looking/searching for over two years. Right now, I'm trying to fix what I have due to this reason. Also, it does have fuel level sender opening at the bottom, which is rather big. If you want the gauge to work, sender is another holy grail. Took me almost three years. Finally found one in working order.

One dead give away, is that tank is huge. It holds 21.7L or 5.7 US Gal.

BTW, What happened to the frame? Look like someone used a cut-off wheel on a grinder.
