(not selling) do I overvalue my bike?

I know my bike isn't anything special, but I feel like it's in killer shape and even has stock emmisions (i know, we all hate them). I do have ProTaper low handlebars and some killer heavy grips, but not much else. I like it way too much to get rid of it and I've always valued it at about 2500 bucks just because it's in such good shape. My question is basically do I like my bike too much and it's just another old KZ on the roads, or am I about close on what I think it's worth? I took these pics today so they would be current when posting this thread. I have other newer Kawi's that are my daily riders and I ride my KZ for occasions such as meets (we have a city ran music and bike night).

Its comercial value is what someone is willing to pay for it. Its value to you is that figure plus sentiment. Rarely are the two the same or even close. Only when your sentiment wanes or your need for the cash outweighs your sentiment will the two become the same. At that point you will find its true value.

The way we look at something like this is; can it be replaced with a modern bike of equal capability and comfort for what we think it's worth?

Why are we even considering valuation? To sell, or for insurance?

If we've become disinterested in it, the market will define its value. If we're not selling, valuation becomes completely subjective except for insurance purposes.

Insurance on the 2nd building, not the bike. They want my estimate of coverage needs. Also, kinda curious as well what others figure.

Where are you going to find another KZ750E in the condition of yours? So to me the bike is priceless and not for sale. If the were a lot of them around in that condition, then it would be different.

Hagerty is a good start for valuation in that case. Property insurance underwriters would likely accept Hagerty's estimate without question.

Also look at KBB and NADA guides.

A search of eBay history might help too. That's one thing that Hagerty commonly uses to help establish market valuation on vintage vehicles.
