Got my materials. All I needed to spend was $20 for gas. Won't be long now. B)

   Clay and decomposed granite are the worst. Gumbo. Had to deal with it working in the LA area. On the other side of Dillon rd close to the Little Chocolate Mountains where I did that 10 ac fence is soft sand. Easy digging. Here we have all the ROCKS. Can't tell you how many times I tried to dig a small hole only to find a large pebble. At least they leave a hole behind.

When I was a kid I worked as a laborer ($1.00 per hour) for a company that built gas stations. One of the tasks I had was digging the holes, by hand, for the car lifts. The company always built the building before the holes were dug so no one would fall into the holes and so the holes were exactly where they needed to be. The holes were only about 3’ in diameter but were 8’ deep. Once I got about 3’ deep I had to use just the metal blade of the shovel the rest of the way because the shovel handle would otherwise be in the way when the dirt is thrown out of the hole. It seemed that every hole had a huge rock beginning at about the 7’ deep level. Using a jack hammer at that depth in such a small diameter hole would be suicidal, so the rock always had to be broken with a digging bar. Oh what fun! Ed

Not a single rock there they seem to all be married and have very large families. I spent some tome setting poles with the phone company, with a banjo and goon spoon
The most memorable was outside of Glenwood Springs a place in No Name called Rock gardens trailer park, next to the river.
