Any of you have good or bad comments about the z1 enterprise parts quality?

I just ordered a few parts (valve seal, spak plug, copper washer,....) to see by my self. Good thing is that they also deliver outside of USA and it is not too expensive (even if sometimes cheaper is not better).

I will let you know how it went as soon as I received and install my parts.

Z1 Ent has been a good source of parts for members here on KZR for years
The company has moved and been purchased this past year and some folks are
straining to get used to the new systems put in place by the new owners
That being said I still think they sell quality parts at good prices
They also support us here on KZR as a vendor in good standing

Hi fullpepper,
We've dealt with Z1 Enterprises for many years, both in person at the Mid-Ohio vintage event, by phone, and by ordering from their web site.

Jeff and his staff in NY were real sticklers for quality. Jeff personally inspected many orders they received from suppliers, and he has been known to reject/return entire lots of new parts that were not deemed of high enough quality for them to re-sell.
When Z1E was still based in NY, Jeff, Steve and Rob were almost always available by phone for consultation. Sadly, that perk of telephone Tech support seems to have been lost in moving the warehouse/shipping operations to FL.

Jeff is still involved in the business operations from his home in NY.

Unless we learn otherwise, we have no reason to doubt the quality of the items available from Z1E.

Z1E has always been top notch. However, they have combined with Mike's XS which has a so-so reputation for quality and service amongst the XS crowd. Particularly bad were any rubber parts. To Mike's credit there has been an improvement in service.... I still avoid them for any rubber bits and I hope they don't use the same supplier for KZ parts.

Thanks all for the advice. I will still keep ordering from kawa the major important parts. Like the head gasket. I will post here my impression on the valve seal and others once it is installed and verified corect.

Fundamentally, Z1Enterprise still remains. However, there are some useful services that Z1E formerly offered that are no longer available...the most important for me was that Z1E could order OEM Kawasaki parts for their customers (even those parts not listed on the site). The new version of Z1E will only sell what they show on the site and will not special order anything not seen. This policy also holds for items from Japan (as shown on www.WIN-PMC.com ), which are no longer available through Z1E, unless shown on the Z1E website.

I like Z1 and have ordered a good many parts there over the years. You gotta be careful with what you order though since most of what Z1 sells is aftermarket parts, not OEM, and some of those are of lesser quality. For example: K&L parts, which are of dubious quality at times. I've had issues with both their brake caliper seals and with a master cylinder kit before. Junk. Their float needles are not the best either because the springs are too weak and here was a huge snafu with poorly manufactured valve shims too. These faults are not due to Z1 of course, but they do sell these parts.

As an aside, I've got a huge bag of Suzuki GS valve shims, many of which were purchased from Z1, and now I'm not sure if any of the new ones are safe to use or not. Sucks not knowing. There is a hardness tester at work that I need to use to test them but I'm not sure if a simple hardness test will tell the story about their usability.

If I ever find that a K&L part is junk, I will contact K&L. I've installed a K&L caliper piston, caliper kit, petcock kit, petcock diaphragm, fork seals & maybe 1 or 2 other parts and have never had a problem. The parts were visually identical to stock & fit fine with no problems. K&L parts are made in Japan. Related, Keyster is a Japanese company & I guess all of their parts are made in Japan as well. ???

l have had issues with k&l carb kits, with the valve seat needles. Put the old ones back once I lapped them. Bought the kits from eBAY, not from Z1E.
