I only returned to riding a bike regularly about 18 months ago after losing interest about 10 years ago, I wanted to go slower than I did when I was young, so I bought a classic, the Z was built the year before I started riding.
Not really into bike meets and stuff, but I'll probably go to the Copdock Bike Show in a couple of weeks.

I also have a ZZR600 that I've started converting into a bit of a streetfighter, I picked it up for £25 and it was a bit shabby but couldn't lose money on it. Haha.

Yes, a Twin has 2 cylinders & there are 2 mufflers (stock).By Aherne: This is the part I'm confused at also. It's a twin, as it has 2 carbs and 2 exhaust ports correct?
The PO had no clue about it and definitely hadn't built it himself. But it has a sticker saying "CSR 750" so I assumed that's what it was. Is there any way of finding out from a frame number or something?
1982 KZ750-M1 CSR. cyclechaos.com has frame & engine number info. The date of mfg should be on the white steering stem vin label. keep in mind that, as with any vehicle, the date of mfg isn't necessarily the model year --- your bike could have been made in the second half of 1981, but it would still be an 82. Just an fyi, the later 750-K belt drive models are similar.
