With 15/35 gearing and turning 9,500RPM, it ran 154MPH on a Cook County Sheriff's (Illinois) radar gun back in 1982!!!

That was on a straight that was just under a half mile long.

I used to ride with a few different law enforcement officers back in the day.

Mr RRB
Without doubt, one of the best looking Mk11 bikes out there, and even better because it is a REAL race bike !!!!! You have got my vote for Bike of the Month and also Bike of the Year - the restored '74 Z1 is a excellent bike to get BOTY but I am into old race bikes. Your Mk11 is the ONLY Kwaka I consider a nicer looking bike than my favourite, the S1.
Cudos, Bob - its a top looking bike. Now, you get some new Morris mags to replace the old suspect wheels, and go find that radar gun again....LOL!!!

Currently owned bikes:
1975 Z900 A4 Yoshi 987 ( tired) race bike
1981 Kz1000J
2014 Ducati Panigale 1199 R
1982 McIntosh Suzuki 1200 race bike
1882 Suzuki GS1000R XR69 roadbike....
1982 ELR R1
1983 ELR R2
TWO GENUINE ( no copy ) 1982 Kawasaki KZ1000S1, BOTH the South African model

I wish I had some friends in Cook county back then, it might have saved me a lot of money.

One thing I could do with my Superbike was that I could ride it on the street as well as the race track!!! All I had to do was install the charging system back in the bike along with the headlight, tail light, brake light, and of course a mirror, and the bike was "street legal"

I absolutely love the stance of this bike, Blue will look nice but that black is just so cool on that bike...;)

I am really partial to the '79 Luminous Navy Blue color. Dan Gurney has been by hero since I was 10 years old!! That might have something to do with it too!!!!! Same with the number I raced with most of my racing career, 248. Couldn't get 48, or 148, so it was 248. Plus Gurney has been a fan of motorcycles, and motorcycle racing his whole life. Plus he built the Alligator too.

Got to find a way to the Peterson Museum to see The Eagles Have Landed display honoring the legendary man, Dan Gurney!!!!

Couldn't beat the Can Am Series, or as we called it, The Bruce And Denny Show for insane race cars. The Chaparrals, the McLarens, and the Porsche Turbo 917/30's. Those were the days!!! After Bruce got killed Gurney took over his seat in the McLaren until the big deal over the Castrol patch.
