Bike of the Month.

I purchased a devic for one of my ltd's and it is a nice pipe,sounds great and fairly inexpensive 

I put a delkevic on my Z1 recently and I like the sound also.  The megaphone style muffler sounds very similar to my old kerker from the 80's.

I have a Delkevik exhaust system on the 77' KZ 1000 LTD. We also put Delkevik exhaust systems on the 80' and 81' Suzuki GS 1100E's and we put the black ceramic version on the 82' Honda CB 900F. They are the best deal out there for a stainless steel exhaust system.

I’ve been slacking in my replies. To Ronnie, Kelly, and Jim, great work, they are all super nice and prime examples of the talent, foresight, and commitment our members have. Congratulations all on your BOTM recognition. 

We are still in the USA this month (will be back in Europe next month) this time for a stunning 73 Z1 from the dynamic duo of “Slmjim+Z1BEBE”. I have seen many posts from these guys who are obviously extremely knowledgeable, but I had not seen their build threads (before my time) so had not seen the fruit of their labour. I have nothing but admiration for their “borderline obsession” with keeping it “the way it left the factory” from the searching down correct parts (right down to date code) to the painstaking replication of factory finishes.
How many guys do you know that would spend 50-60 hours lovingly restoring the original 50-year-old paint?When you look at the before and after pics of this Z1 it’s hard to imaging that 98% of it is still “as it left the factory” in 1973. I would highly recommend checking out the full build thread to fully understand what has gone into this build, and let’s not forget these guys truly are a “duo” Z1BEBE is a lady not shy of getting “stuck in” to the dirty work (how much easier would the rest of our lives be if she had a thousand sisters !!)

Last licensed in 1986 only the owner’s manual, tool tray and key were not present (even all the factory stickers have survived both time and the revival) the original paint was faded but good, inside of the tank was far better than it had any right to be, biggest unknown was the “frozen” motor.
I will let the pictures do the talking but in short, the bike was stripped to a bare frame then each piece renovated/restored as necc to have a visually correct and authentic Z1 in perfect working order that “wears it’s age with pride”. This is a bike that any true enthusiast would love to own and “RIDE” without fear of the odd stone chip or scratch but safe in the knowledge that it has been refreshed and assembled exactly how it should be.If you read the build thread, you will also come across some ingenious solutions to challenges encountered along the way

Absolutely beautiful!! Well deserved. My favorite color combo of all the z1s,and nothing beats the 4in4 exhaust. Love it!!!
