yep it's mine. ran the frame VIN on z1enterprises.com and it's showing to be an MKII. why the heck are side covers so freaking expensive. if anybody has a chopped up MKII and wanna give spare parts to a poor guy lemme know lol ;)

I went through a head I had checked out several monthe ago that I wanted to install on my current engine with another set of jugs and pistons.

I have four engines. Three Mark II's and a KZ1000.

I was comparing them to the pictures on this thread and lo and behold two of my Mark II cases don't have the ribs on the cases that are shown in this thread.

I guess someone installed mark II cranks in the KZ cases?

I'll get the numbers off and see what year engines I have.

Two of the engines I have came up as 1978 KZ 1000 C1A Police.

These engines have the mark II cranks but do not have the renforced ribs. ???

The one engine I have that has the renforced ribs came up as a 1980 KZ 1000 A4.

The other is just a 1977 KZ1000 A1.

I guess I will never know the true history of these engines.

The 1075 engine that came up as a police engine came from a drag bike I bought 12 years ago.

The other two I bought a couple of years ago. Roy

That quickly deflated my happiness of a possible mystery mk11 to a standard ltd. Too the parts catalog or to the parts for sale listing.

Kz750 (81)
Kz1000 (79)
3 Kz650 (2-79's)
1 650 CSR for parts

Is the GPZ head for sale and I also have a question....can you have a 78'/79' or so with a mk2 crank ????    I broke a timing chain so I got online and ordered a new chain ...got a head from a friend and with new cams also cams have 30 tooth adj. Sprockets ....now that it's apart it's a 16 tooth crank so I think I have to order new parts again !!!   ... Once I have the correct parts is everything else the same as far as the timing with the 28th link back and the marks on the cam sprockets..??

Sorry for any misspelled words I am doing this post on a very small phone    lol
