Whoo hoo! Finished rider training... was created by Noah Mercy
and learned a bunch.
Since I have very little experience riding on the street, I felt it would be a good idea to take a beginning rider's course. Whoa! This was a 24 hour (total) class and I learned a lot. I can highly recommend that any new rider, or even anyone who thinks they might like to ride, take one of these classes. I'm sure some riders might think getting out on the road is the best way to learn, but we had folks in the class who had ridden for years who picked up some skills that they hadn't acquired on their own. Being able to practice in a controlled environment and receive coaching really speeds up the learning curve.
Now that I have my bike endorsement, a little more confidence, and the weather has improved, I'll be spending more time in the saddle.

Congrats!
I took the rider's course after riding for about 15 years.
The course is great, just like everyone says. And it helps me keep my bad habits in check.

One great thing is that its a good refresher course for people who have been riding for years as well.
Or for some who have been riding for a very long time who find out theyve been doing certain things wrong the whole time.

Congrats. I took the course when I first started to ride and recommend it to anyone who wants to start up. Enjoy the ride and take it easy out there!

I took it two years ago and it helped me a lot even though I'd ridden on country roads years before. I still apply the skills I learned.
I heard that a couple weekends back a woman from here in town was taking the course and went down and wound up with a broken foot. I'm not what the outcome of that was...
Hey, Revs! Good to see you back. Hope all is well.

Thanks, folks! I can't wait to take a ride over the mountains week after next when I have a day off. The twisties should be a real hoot now that I've learned the easy way to get my scoot to lean. :side::woohoo:
I'll try to get some good photos of Shell Falls and Shell Canyon to post...bet some of you will drool on your keyboards!

Sounds great man! I took the MSF Basic course last fall, when I got this old KZ. There is now an advanced rider course here (bring your own bike) that I would like to take. Part of me wants to know just how far of a lean is too far.... I might want to get full leathers first.
