So I had a guy come look at the Honda tonight and made a deal. If he comes and gets it there will be only two in the stable, wonder if that has electronic ignition?.....hmmmm.

Not unless it's been added, electronic ignition was first used on the 82 model KZ750 twin.
Both my 79 and my 80 750 twins have electronic ignition though

Well the guy came and picked up the Honda tonight and now I have some investment capital. unless I roll it over into something the wife might try to tax me. Steell did you look at that twin and if you did what is your opinion? That fairing will have to go for sure. I emailed the guy. I'll go look if I can get time. Anything I should look for on a twin KZ?

Check the swingarm bearings, have to set it on a milk crate or something though, because the 1980 G models don't have a centerstand.
Starter clutch is either bad, or going to go bad, that's what kickstarters are for
Replacement parts are easy to find
Otherwise, just the usual stuff you would check on any 27 year old bike.

For pete's sake, $650? If the paint's any good its worth it. The rest can usually be fixed.
I like the looks alot, and look forward to more close-up photos...

No Kidding! $650 is a smokin' deal as long as there's nothing seriously busted. That's a good looking bike.
I don't know if I'd write off the starter clutch so fast, Steell. My '80 twin's clutch started making the trouble noise at around 20K miles. It was still hanging in there when I sold it at 67K miles. My '82 CSR's clutch was still alive at 60K. You just gotta learnj to ignore the occasional high pitched squeal when starting
