My buddy is looking at Voyager and I figured I'd ask on here what they are like. I think it is a 1986 maybe. Any problems with these? Do they handle ok? I've seen the bike but just from a distance, it looks like it's all there.

I had a 99 Voyager and liked it OK. They're known for wobbly front ends and at least the 86 had a bad igniter that would break the starter chain if the owner tried to start the bike with a weak battery. The fix was the igniter from any other year, not a big deal if attended to.

The six cylinder is a completely different bike than the four. I have an 88 ZG1200B1... most of the teething problems had been sorted out for the four cylinders by 88 so I didn't want an earlier one. The bike is not a sport bike but still feels like a motorcycle. It is far lighter and more enjoyable to ride than a Venture or Goldwing UNLESS you are covering 1500 miles in a day and then the much bulkier bikes will prove more comfy for insterstate riding. The Voyager can easily do 500-750 mile days in comfort.

I've got a '96 V XII (four cylinder). I think the bike rides & handles well, and has plenty of power. Nicely setup for two-up riding.
It has a radio that draws battery current all the time, even when the bike is parked. Most owners use a battery tender to keep the battery charged between rides.
