I'm restoring my '78 KZ650 and need a replacement for the stock exhaust system. I'd like to have a 4 into 2 system that looks as close to stock as possible . Does anyone have any ideas as to where I can look to obtain something suitable for this bike? I have searched eBay and surfed the 'net for quite some time all to no avail. Mac makes a 4 into 2 system but it's what they call a "turnout" pipe - not the look I want to acheive. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

None of the 4-1 systems I've ever seen look anything close to the stock exhaust on the 650. I'm not sure of any aftermarket 4-2 systems that mimick the stock look either. If you want the stock look your best bet will be to watch ebay for a clean stock system, they show up from time to time.

Thanks for your response. I made an error on the original posting. It's a 4 into 2 I'm looking for NOT 4 into 1. I made a correction in the posting. Again, thanks for your response. The quest continues.......

I have a stock 4 into 2 set if you are interested, I am actually looking for a 4 into 1 for my bike. My stock exhaust is in great condition and the mufflers themselves are shiny chrome with no pits at all and they are near mint. I have pics in the gallery that will show the exhaust or I can email you better ones if you are interested.
I assume the stock exhausts for our bikes are the same

Thanks for your response to my inquiry. Yes, I'm very interested in your 4 -2 exhaust from your '77 C1. I am awaiting a phone call from my local parts manager who will let me know if your exhaust will fit my '78 B2.
In the meanwhile, I would appreciate it if you could email a photo of the exhaust,(or bike, if still installed) to me at: (bullet@i-zoom.net). That way we can communicate directly. Also in the meanwhile if anyone reading this forum knows if this exhaust is compatible with my bike and would care to weigh-in on the subject, it would be appreciated. I attempted to upload a photo of the old girl but the file size was too big and was rejected. Sadly, I don't know how to adjust the file size to make it acceptable. As soon as I can learn how to modify .jpg file sizes (you can do that?) I will upload images regularly for all to see the progression of the rebirth of my first bike. I hope to have her road-worthy by the time she's 30 years old, June 2008. Ah, we had some good times.... and there will be many more... Oh yes. Yes there will.

The '77~'79 KZ650B and the '77~'79 KZ650C/'80 KZ650F "Custom" all used the exact same part numbers (current part#s 18001-1002 = L/H 18001-1003 = R/H) for the exhaust mufflers.
