After quite an adventure I brought this '69 500 home. It had been rolled out of a building that was about to fall over. It is a real barn find. This will be my first triple project.

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

A first year H1! Looks like an original rear tire! Congrats on the find. The paint job suggests it was greatly loved at one time.

Great Find!!!!! Its getting real hard to find early H1's in any condition anymore. I see it has the original front tire. The front tires on those bikes lasted almost forever because most of the time the front end was up in the air!!!! Wonder if it still has the bridged intake port cylinders on the motor. I believe those only came on the '69 model year motors.
Can't believe it still has the RH ignition cover with the plug wires that run under the right carb. Super rare parts and damn near impossible to find today. When you put a battery in the bike and turn the key on you better hear a very high pitch hum coming from the ignition boxes under the seat. If not get ready to spend a small fortune!!!
Good luck with this project!!! After all those big bucks spent you will have a real piece of history. When you let the motor hit 5,500 RPM hold on for the ride of your life!!!!!
