Wow, your testing over there makes the U.S. look like Mad Max Thunderdome... anything goes.
The requirements for us (Chicago) is one working brake on the rear wheel, one mirror, headlight, tail light, brake light, and some form of eye protection. Other than that... clothing optional.

Yeah, it's pretty crazy. Guess it's the price you pay for the attitude towards speeding over here. Must visit Chicago one day, just to go riding starkers with sunglasses on

Just an update to the exhaust drama.
I was about to buy a pretty decent second hand Zephyr system when the guy from Delkevic replied to my e-mail. He said he has a few ideas for making it quieter and will send me something next week. These guys have really good customer service - at least as far as my experience goes - so I'll be sticking with them until we get this sorted. I may possibly switch to the megaphone silencer as well. It will be easier to make a bit quieter and I think it's a better fit for the LTD's.

Since I have a brand new Delkevic in the box, I will be watching how this plays out.

Nice, what muffler did you go with? I'll be interested to see if you find it as loud as I do.

It came with p/n PR2292 "Megaphone Universal Silencer". Since I bought it from Z1 Enterprises, I did not know they were available with different silencer types. I was thinking about using a more modern bike's muffler, or modifying the end of the collector to angle this one up higher. I'm not fond of the muffler being level or near level.

Honestly, I think I am a couple of months away from seeing the engine fire up. Maybe longer.

I'm sure you'll still get there before it's too cold to ride
Will update again next week when I hear back from the Delkevic guy.
Regarding the muffler: You have the quieter of the two. The end of the collector is 64mm. I'm not 100% sure but I think the new z750 mufflers may fit. There is enough room to angle the collector up a bit, but you'd have to figure out something for the exhaust bracket.

I already knew some fabrication would be involved changing angles, or muffler types. I managed to hang '81 Kawi gauges and ignition switch of a '05 Honda triple tree, so I am sure I could come with something clean looking.

No doubt Looking at your front end you're more than capable. If I lived down the road I'd be trying to convince you to swap mufflers I think the straight pipe would look good with that green...

I would love an old Kerker or Bassani, but the effort to find a decent one and what they are selling for swayed me in a different direction.

Yeah, I have my eye on a '77 KZ1000 - that would definitely need a Kerker on it... Anyway, best get this thing registered and ridden before I start thinking about the next project! Good thing the wife doesn't read any of this
