That was me and it's still available, but he already installed a new Delkevic system. in case somebody else is interested. hee.

Yessir it was. I was just mentioning it as I know some resto's have received aftermarket exhaust simply due to the fact it is so hard to track down NOS exhaust stuff.

Thanks guys. I was interested in an original exhaust but all of the ones available over here had a bit too much rust for the cost. Now that I have the Delkevic I've blown my budget Especially if I needed to get it shipped from the US!

Carbs reassembled. New stock jets, zinc plated parts (choke lever and the two main brackets nickel plated) and new chromed tops. Polished up the carb bodies as I cant stand the matt grey finish. Not the best polishing job but will hit the outside ones with a dremel when everything else is done.

Question for you guys about the throttle and choke plates: I used green (2701) loc-tite and lock washers instead of staking. I figure once the loc-tite has cured this will be bomb-proof. Thoughts?

I've used loctite on all my carbs for the throttle plates with zero issues over the years. Heating a little to remove later (if I ever have to again) beats filing the back of the screws off.

Never used green before but after reading up on its application I don't think you'll have any issues.

Still waiting on the shims so after checking the float levels today (all good, no adjustment necessary) I blasted the centre stand I found on ebay and the control housings.
I used a really low pressure for the controls (about 2 bar) so that I didn't round off the text. This is the second set I've tried to restore and the edges of the text on the first set weren't good enough to paint (when I sprayed the text white and then sanded the excess, the letters were all wonky). I figured that I may have been a bit extreme when blasting them so took it easy this time, because of this there is still some excess paint that I need to remove manually.
Other than that not much done this week as I am supposed to be fixing the transmission on the wife's mini.

Picked up the headlight parts from getting re-plated yesterday. Look really good and cost me under half of what new parts would have cost (if I could even get hold of them). They even polished up the bolt heads so they look better than new.
Unfortunately I completely forgot about a dent on the left side of the housing. I meant to hammer it out a bit before I took it to get plated. It was made more visible when the ring was assembled - everything else was perfect so it stuck out. My stupid brain wouldn't leave me alone so I tried to hammer it out a bit. It ended up a bit better but despite the cardboard under the housing I still ended up with some micro-scratches in my nice new chrome. Any tips on how to get these out? Rouge and 0000 steel wool?
