Hi Big Mikey,
That's a great build, and an inspiration. We've been contemplating building a Z-bike street sleeper/hotrod. We just have to make room for another bike somehow without hogging or blocking access to our homegrown service bay.
Good Ridin,
slmjim & Z1BEBE

Is the engine powder coated? If so was it assembled or did you get each part done individually?
Thanks
Matt

@Kidkawie
I used a 2003 zx6r swingarm. There's a ton of really good information on this forum for using that swingarm. Old Man Rock has a nice PDF as a how-to within the files on KZrider main-site. I reached out to Leon for help on the pivot portion of my swingarm, and he did a kick-ass job.
High-level of what needs to be done: Pivot needs to be modified to accept stock Z1 bolt / If you go dual rear shocks, the rear caliper needs a new or modified mount / Mounts need to be created for shock(s) / Offset front sprocket to keep chain aligned / If you keep the cable clutch (as opposed to hydraulic), the clutch cover needs some modification to the backside to avoid hitting the new offset front sprocket and chain / Depending on your clearances, may also need to make a guide, roller or both for the chain to avoid damage to chain, frame, engine case or swingarm

Thank you! You should bite the bullet and do it! Was a ton of fun .... but time consuming and expensive
@M_a_t_t
I painted the engine with a ceramic coating. I decided to go with Cerakote ( www.cerakotehightemp.com ) and went with one of their Air Cure products. I did some of the loose covers individually and did the rest of the engine lightly assembled (without internals). There is a photo in my earlier post showing the engine lightly assembled. We will see how well the coating holds up to wear and tear...
