I am wanting to convert my Spectre into a scrambler. I am not sure where to start. I do want a high exhaust and keep my air suspension. Any suggestions?

Is a scrambler an off-road type thing? If it is, I'm wondering about ground clearance.

Oh boy! Not to upset anyone, but I suspect the change is only for posing at the local high school, not really for riding off road. Nonetheless, it seems to me like a bad idea to cut up a fairly decent stock bike to try to convert it into such an odd contraption. Let's face it, a wide-engined, low slung, shaft drive "scrambler" isn't likely to be convincing to anyone expect to those unfamiliar with bikes. If I wanted a scrambler I would sell the 550 Spectre and work on converting a more suitable model rather than trying to turn a cruiser into a scrambler.

To get extra ground clearance, you would have to alter the drive-line of the shaft drive, and the u-joints won't like that. So you will first want to convert to chain drive. Probably the easiest/cheapest way to do that would be to get a different bike, or at least a different engine.
