The bike: 82 750m twin CSR
I've been trying to take some of the "80's chunk" out of my bike recently. One of my targets is the chunkiness of the seat. My current seat is quite nice, original pan and foam re-upholstered. I would like to keep things fairly close to the original and I would also like to keep any changes reversible.
I've been thinking about getting a 2nd '82 750 csr seat pan and fitting it with something that's a little more cafe-like.
Has anyone had success with this idea in the past? Anyone have any good reasons why I should consider a different option? If you've done something similar, do you have any pictures?
All the best
Adam

Hi Adam,
The previous owner of my 650 CSR did a pretty good job of re-shaping the stock seat. I would have gone a little flatter with less tank overlap but I think it came out great anyway.

I recently watched a series of videos on youtube by a guy named "hackaday" or "hack a day" cant remember...but he takes an old sabre 750 and makes a really nice café bike out of it. He shows you step by step everything he does to make a custom fiberglass seat pan and tank. It's really good stuff!
