KZ1000 ATP Turbo "BARN FIND"

Picked up my next Project, a 77 with a turbo kit. PO put a turbo on his stock 1015 in 82 and proceeded to twist the crank, and melt the pistons on pump gas. He had a 1327 built and for the street, realized he was goin to kill himself and set it up for the strip, but never raced it. It was parked to collect duct in the mid 90's. I just have it stored until I can get started on it in the spring of 16. Lot's of cool parts on this bad boy! It is a kick start only set up with something I never heard of.....dual fuel pumps, no carb float, recirculates back to tank?

I would be tempted to put a 42 mm Mikuni on it from Terry Kizer at Mr Turbo

WOW! Ralph, another one pops up out of the past.! Did you know about this one for awhile? Or did it just pop up?
Guy knew what he was doing. Did the basics for the era.
I say, Retro Nostalgia drag bike, don't change a thing. maybe a little rake. Clean and polish all the aluminum. Change the Borranni front rim to match the back. New 5.5 M/T slick.
Then go to town with a custom paint job that is in the back of your mind, that you have been wanting to do for years.
Just my thoughts and opinion.
By chance, I too am trying to work a 77 KZ1000 from a Barn. In Grand Island, NY

Another Barn KZ1000 1977. Ironically I painted this bike GM medium gray metallic about 15-16 years ago. Has the big ugly touring, double bucket seat. And Butt Ass ugly muffler turn-outs and dry rotted tires. Told it was sitting for 7-8 years here in a "Barn" Covered up.
I'm working the guy. Told him the longer it sits the less I'm payin'
These were cheap phone pictures from about 2 weeks ago.

Was down in the low teens last night, after we got about 10 inches of heart attack snow
my friend moved to Vegas in the spring & gave me his 2 yr. old 700.00 snowblower for free, ...what a lifesaver it was yesterday

One pump goes to Zenith from petcock like normal......but no float....the second pump keeps fuel level correct by returning fuel to the tank. Sounds like it should work....the PO will give me contact info for the race motor guy in Flint that did the set up back in the day so I can get a better explanation.

It just popped up for sale a week ago on the Yellow Bullet forum. A few other people seemed interested, but the poster was not answering Private Messages....so after a couple days I just replied to his post with my website link, and he contacted me right away. A couple days later I looked at it and made the deal.

Looks like it does have a little rake on the neck!
