Cory, did the zrx component swap change the ride height ? If do how much ? Also,are you're fork tubes set flush with the top tree ? I'm not sure i want the rake from front to back. I love the stance of a zrx almost zero raked from front to back.

Yes the forks are flush with the tops of the triples. I did not measure the height prior to the change so I can't comment on height with numbers. It "feels" the Ashe when I sit on it if that helps. One big difference is going to the shorter 17" wheel and tire combination which you will lose some height there. You can affect rake by placing the rear upper shock mounts where you want. I measured the geometry vs. my ZRX and set them almost identically except a slight difference due to an interference problem with the KZ frame tubes.

So I didn't get as much as I wanted done this weekend, but getting closer to to mounting up wheel and cutting side spacers. I did get my rear wheel inner bearing spacer made, but I spent the majority of the time cutting my inner sprocket adapter for my cush drive. A long time getting things very precise for no play in it.

Now, I am not a machinist, but I wanted to get some opinions from those who are. I was shooting for .001" clearance between the OD of the adapter ring and the ID of the sprocket bore. On my last pass, I screwed up and ended up with .002" clearnace in the diameter between the two. It is just enough that you can "feel" or "sense" movement between the two. is this going to be ok, or is this too much clearance? I have a .0015" interference fit for the double row bearing that will be pressed in, so I am wondering if I would get some expansion of the collar once the bearing goes in? Thoughts?

you should be fine cory.
the sprocket mfgs. prolly have at least that much tolerance.

I agree...can't imagine a tighter tolerance than .002" on those sprockets or they'd cost a lot more.

Well I am going to leave it then. Now to drill the bolt pattern, spot mill the back side at at each hole, and press in the studs. Then press the bearings in the wheels and come into the home stretch. Got to whittle a brake rotor adapter disc and cut my front brake rotor spacers down.

Thanks Leon for the inspiration. Hoping based on the budgeting my wife and I have done, that will be able to finish the bike and put it on the road in May. I wish I was a machinist, but I tend to get better the more practice I get. This bike is giving me plenty of practice......

Side note to the conversation about the bore to collar fit. Spoke with JT Sprocket's technical department and the ID tolerance of the sprocket bore for the JT488 is +/- 0.10mm or .0039". My current .002" is less than their manufacturing limit. Just hope I never get a sprocket from them that is heavy on the + side then I'll have a tolerance of .0059"...
