How do I tell what type of motorcycle I have? was created by Dead-End Brother
This may be a dumb question. How do I tell what type of motorcycle I have. I know its a 1982 kawasaki 750 LTD, but the more I look for things online. I see that their are different types of 1982 kaw 750 LTD. So my question is how does one tell what type of bike he has. That I can buy the right size things for my bike, for ex: I want to put clip-ons on it and don't know the fork size because i don't know the type of 750 LTD, I have. I thought about Kawasaki.com, just type in the VIN # and see what it said but they don't have anything but that the warranty is invald.

Thank You for reading and Hope you can help!

Brother...do yourself a favor and get the Factory Service Manual for your bike (it has a yellow cover). It covers the 80-83 KZ750 (4 cylinders) and has seperate appendices for the variations between the models. The '82 appendix goes over the changes to the clutch adjustment procedure which is good to know.

Good luck!

Hello, Dead-End Brother, and WELCOME to KZr!

For a free manual download and other good info, click on the following link,
then scroll down to "The Bible" where lots of good stuff may be down-loaded.
kz.bike-night.com/

The info on kawasaki.com includes parts diagrams, part names, part numbers, models sharing same part, availability, etc. For example, here's an excerpt from one of the earlier screens which gives an idea about the various 750 models in 1982.

Here's a link for help with navigating the kawasaki.com web-site and finding information.
kzrider.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&...w&catid=13&id=376734

Including information about your bike year and model usually elicits better responses. And it's easy to put the information in your signature where it will automatically appear in posted messages. When done, the signature information appears in all posts, past and future. And may be changed as often as desired.
