So I don't forget, I took the front badge for the forks off the parts bike and flipped it onto mine.. also will be adjusting the bars again in the next day or two to make opening throttle more comfy for me.

Thanks for the welcome boys!

Nice progress. How did you get the wife (or girlfriend) to let you work on it in the kitchen? I think that is your secret to getting it on the road so fast. Now, if only I can figure out a way to have my wife let me bring my 900 into the house, I would get a lot more accomplished working next to the beer in the fridge and the coffee pot. P.S. Beautiful area you live in.

 I'm a girl, I just gave myself permission..... Yes it's a very pretty area here.

Okay so took front badge off of bike. It interferred with my modified light and shot it straight up into the air! LOL So that sucker came off quick. I'm quite sure all the cars in my area are rather grateful.. hehehe

Um.. well I didn't have a working odometer at first, so best guess is over 1000 before and ... about 1000 since the new speedo. :) I try to ride about 200 kms a day. ( oh right.. I'm speaking in kms not miles.. LOL)

I take my M2 road test in Sept and if I pass I'm planning on taking a road trip to my hometown and back to celebrate.. That will be just under 800 kms in one day and my first official "trip" out of town. :)

I'm in Thunder Bay Ontario Canada. I live right on the shore of Lake Superior. Wonky weather around here let me tell you..

Heading out to fix my tach and start mucking with the parts bike..

Well I have pictures.. but they are in the now missing camera.... God only knows where I lost it..

So my tach is now fixed.. It was squealing like a stuck pig before and drove me nuts. We worked oil into it and oiled the cable and that seemed to free it up. We also changed the kickstand in the hopes that would help lessen the lean but it didn't do a thing. We did discover the old one had stripped threads so at least thats dealth with.

I really wish I had my camera! In the old bike I found a perfectly good owners manual. It doesn't even smell musty! The carbs look beautiful! So those are off and soaking. We had to drill out the lock to get the seat up to get at all of this but oh well, it is a parts bike. The engine is seized. Thats a shame because it had way less use than that one I'm using. If my camera reappears, I'll post the pics I took...

Mmm forgot to add, that we bent my bars back again. (I damaged them in a fall previously).. It was like going from wrestling an elephant into riding to being on a well trained pony. Holy Crap! I didn't realize how much effort the bent bars used up. They are still a little off, but just barely and I can now use my throttle with ease. Shifting gears is way easier and speeding may now be something I have to watch for... :P

Hiya Rob! That would be a good ride eh?

Camera has been found! I left it at the shop... So here are some of those pics...

Those are the "new carbs." They went on my bike last night.. ever beautiful. They are not leaking (bonus) and have no boggy spots and the bike runs a billion times better. I did however lose 10 kms off the top speed from 155 down to 145, but I'll live with it.

Thats the rusted out motor. We soaked it in seafoam and it still won't turn.. Darn....

The drilled out lock....

This is the find of the year! It's complete! First complete air box unit I have ever seen...

Well that's all for now... :)

My boyfreind got me a suprise present and my bike now has a new seat cover!

These covers are HORRIBLE to put on. After we scrubbed and spray painted the pan, we attempted to put that sucker on.... Well my little 120lbs needed to be double that so that standing on it could squish it down to pull across. Ugh. We got it on but it was with much swearing, head scratching and sweat. We ended up breaking a bunch of the points that hold the cover in place. Next time.. rivets and someone heavy to squish it! Least I now have a not duct-taped seat.. although it kinda looks like I stole it and shoved it on mine! hehe
