yeah but you dont get to add bull riding to your resume riding a kz! :woohoo:mtbspeedfreak wrote: I ride a gorgeous '76 KZ900 I got for $1,900. Find a Z1 in the same condition and you'll pay $6,000 EASY!!!
Frankly, (just my two cents) people get all excited just for the two characters- a "Z" and a "1"- myself included, I want a Z1 . The KZs were better all around bikes IMHO- thicker gauge tubing in the frame and swingarm is a trade off for having "only" 26mm carbs.
compared to newer bikes all the z1/kz series bikes are bulls wrapped in a glorified water pipe frame,the z1 was just a meaner bull to stay on the full 9 seconds! :woohoo:

Thans again for all of your posts.
Also when did the first bike come out of the Lincoln Factory and how many were produced in 1975? Does anybody have a lower KZ900-A4 serial# than this ZIF-500360? Were any of the lower numbers LTDs?

Interesting thread. After reading your question about the lower serial number, I checked mine;
Z1F-099032.
According to one of the earlier replies, I guess that would make mine the 32nd bike produced that year?
(I have a '76 KZ900, not LTD)
Thanks for the info guys.
Rick.

Just checked my frame, numbers are correct & match the sticker on the neck too.
Took a quick look at the link, & you appear to have a point. Oddly, the Z1 site starts the six digit numbers at Z1F-500001 Mine is lower (099032).
The engine numbers appear to be inline with Z1's site being higher (Z1E-107101) although not within 200.
Not tryin' to hijack the thread, but now you got me thinkin'.
