there are many z1's out there we dont know of.. i know of a 73 inside a old hanger about an hour from here but it is trashed sat outside for 15 years in this south texas weather.. i had a chance to buy it for 500 bucks when i was 16 but i had no interest in street bikes then cause i was and always have been a dirt bike fanatic. but oh well might still be there but i cant buy anymore stuff im overloaded. i threw away so much old crap of mine i didnt need to make room for this z1..

the guy i just bought my killer deal gs1100 from was not looking for money ,only .....really....it is more allowing someone to take over care of an ailing friend....and some money, okay, that is good too,,,,he is not stupid and knows with some effort more $ could be gotten...
but he let me offer a price under his 500 and listened when i told him the real costs and time involved in saving a bike that has sat more than a few yrs and has unknowns and stuck brakes, gummed carbs, dead battery weeds growing in the header...everything patina... ect...
you scored and those engines are nice for the 76..you may for sure keep your eyes peeled for more basket cases and have enough for two whole bikes or fill in the blanks on yours....if you did nothing else than get the one extra engine for 400 you would be getting a deal ...you can make a nice Z-1 project now...good for you

Nah dude, if you're going all out on your 76, restore the Z1. 4-into-4 pipes, factory paint scheme, etc. You could flip that and make a ridiculous profit.
