cafe/fighter wannabe project with 1983 GPZ 550 was created by kscanuck785
I'm slowly starting to buy parts for my bike and was wondering if these would fit?
and as I'm looking for parts do I really have to look for 1983 GPZ 550? seems like a lot of results contains parts from KZ 550-750-1000 etc...
levers
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...WAX:IT#ht_2915wt_945
and what about those fork boots?
(I HAVE to have some, just one of those things I REALLY like on a bike:)
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...EWAX:IT#ht_500wt_931
and last one...for now...lol
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...AX:IT#ht_2719wt_1374
how come the little ebay gadget isn't working for me?!

on the levers i can safely say the brake one wont work gpz never had a cable brake the clutch one might work but then you wont match

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationok, glad you told me that!!
so, what would you suggest for a matching pair of levers in black?
the ones on mine really need replacing so I'm going to have to find some.
and I ordered 2 set of the blinkers for both our bikes so hopefully they will fit
what about this speedo?
I was given a long list of ones that would fit, but not positive this is a match, this is from a 1988 Vulcan.

got the cafe seat recovering outta way, right in my little town too
she is charging me $85, which even includes taking off the current cover and putting the new one one
which I've done before and these staples are a PITA but she has a air staple so it will be easier for her
I had in mind something cool as far as color but she has black on hands so...oh well ,not like there is something wrong with a black seat

is this guy still around?
I did a search and did not get any result so maybe I did something wrong?

when shopping for the bike today!
the guy at the auto shop was really into bikes and had painted many of them so that was cool
got some white paint, champagne white form duplicolor
dupli color shadow chrome kit for the wheels, the above mentioned guy has on his car, which we saw over there, looks cool so for $20 we are giving it a try
then some engine paint in flat black
VHT wrinkle paint in black
exhaust paint and exhaust wrap...in black...lol
change my original plan for the pipes since I don't have access to ceramic coating, we are painting and wrapping them.
since it's 100+F right now, no work is getting done today

I figured I could post a little rebuilding journal since some of you seem to enjoy following my project
1st day home:
2nd day :
1st week:
all taken apart, sandblasting getting done on frame, swingarm and misc. parts:
2nd week:
working on gas tank and fender
primed:
1st coat of paint, not sanded:
I had hubby spraying a light coat of metal flake, jsut to give it a little something.
it is VERY subtle, maybe too subtle ..lol
last night, I wet sanded my tank and my fender so the next step will be probably a little more metal flakes and a clear coat.
will put a pic of my new seat too...I forgot to take one
and just for fun:
hubby's bobber project and new rider friend Honda shadow:
got my fork boots in this morning
